Join The Changa Exclusive Book Club 📖✨

Welcome to The Changa Community! This is a 4-week* guided journey where we will read and discuss the learning of the book ¡No Seas Tan Changa!: Growing Up 'Too Sensitive' with Undiagnosed Autism and ADHD in Puerto Rico.

Our Goal: Move past "solving for normal" and start building a life rooted in sustainability and joy.

Before we dive into the schedule, I want to start with a Low-Friction Promise.

As an AuDHD person, I know that "homework" can often feel like a source of guilt or a reason to stay away if you get behind. There is no such thing as being "behind" in this book club. Whether you’ve read every note, just skimmed the stories, or haven't even opened the book yet. YOU BELONG HERE. Every session will start with a live reading of a snippet so we are all on the same page.

Come as you are. Fidgets, cameras off, and "brain-fog" are all welcome.

A Note on Language

Since the book is currently in its original English version, this first cohort will run primarily in English. However, this is a Puerto Rican space. Please know that Spanglish, code-switching, and those "no encuentro la palabra" moments are encouraged.

The Weekly Breakdown

We will be meeting once a week for 4 weeks. Each session is 60 minutes of connection, deep conversations, and just a space to show up as we truly are.

  • Week 1: The Roots | Tuesday, May 12th at 7 pm AST

    • Focus: Part I—La Niña Malcriada (Chapters 1–4).

    • Exploring our earliest memories of being "too much" and shifting from "character flaws" to understanding our neurotype.

  • Week 2: The Mask | Tuesday, May 19th at 7 pm AST

    • Focus: Part II—La Rebelde (Chapters 5–8).

    • Unpacking how we used high achievement to hide our struggles and what happens when that "shield" gets too heavy to carry.

  • Week 3: The Logic | Tuesday, June 2nd at 7 pm AST

    • Focus: Part III—The Algorithm (Chapters 9–13).

    • Discussing the "Double Empathy Problem" and the mental math we perform every day just to navigate a social world that wasn't built for us.

  • Week 4: Agency | Tuesday, June 9th at 7 pm AST

    • Focus: Part IV & Epilogue—The Unraveling (Chapters 14–18 & the Epilogue).
